Along with all that, if you want to practice Spanish - here are some ideas!
Summer vacation is upon us! This weekend I read a really beautiful list of homework given out by a teacher in Italy. Check it out below.
I hope your summer is full of dancing, books, and joy.

This is especially for my 7th & 8th graders who are presenting their projects. Part of your presentation grade is pronunciation - here are some ways to do that! Do you have another tool you've used? Feel free to share in the comments!
6th-8th graders will have the chance to sign up for Duolingo during class. This is a program that lets you learn Spanish at the perfect level for you, and a fun way to practice over break! As you learn more with the program, you can help translate documents and materials online - a very authentic way to learn and use a language. However, we will be focusing on the practice and lessons in class - not on translations. Instructions for during class:
Notes for signing up:
Please let me know if you have any questions! We watched these videos in class to learn about this celebration and a little bit of the history behind it. Click here for a list of lots more resources, organized by reading levels and grade levels! My name is Señora Kennedy, and I am your new 3rd-8th grade Spanish teacher! I got the chance to meet some of you at Back to School Night last week, and I can't wait to get to know the rest of you! You can learn a little bit about me here... but I don't want to reveal too much yet, since we will be doing some introductions in Spanish during class! For all grades: Take a look around my website, and see if you find anything interesting! I have a brief (and optional) Family Survey to get a little more information about my students and how they learn best - you can take it by clicking the button below. 3rd-5th grade: I am sending home an information sheet for parents. If you didn't get it or haven't had Spanish yet, you can get a copy of it here. Starting the second week of school, weekly vocabulary will be available on the Class page. 6th-8th grade Middle school students will be bringing home a syllabus with lots of important information. To let me know you saw the information, there are three options:
This is your first chance to earn some participation points. (Learn more about participation and grades in Spanish by reading the Syllabus!) Middle school students should also sign up for Edmodo and join our class group. More detailed instructions are below. You will get your group code in class, or you can contact me. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns, or if you just want to say hello. I am excited to join the UDA family!
