This week all our students finish up their school year and get ready for summer vacation. I am very proud of all the good work you did this year.
I have some big news that is half exciting and half sad. The exciting part is that I have received a Fulbright Grant in Spain for the 2011-2012 school year. This means that the U.S. and Spanish governments are sending me to help Spanish students learn about the English language and our culture here in the United States. I will be moving to a city called Alicante and teaching in a school there for a year. (You can click here if you're curious about Alicante - I am excited for the beach, the palm trees, the castle and for speaking lots of Spanish!)
So this week I am cleaning up my classroom, and I am also cleaning up this website. I've taken down the pages that I don't need anymore - current assignments, class calendar, etc. - but I will eave this site up and running even while I am gone, if you would like to practice Spanish with any of the games and resources I have here. You can also contact me if you want to say "hola" - if you write I promise I will write back!
Maybe I can even get you a class of Spanish pen-pals your age - who knows? I'm very excited for the things to come.
Keep in touch! ¡Nos vemos!
